Between 1940 and 1975, the former Dawes family home changed hands and vocation several times. In the late 1950s, the building housed Club El Paso, a popular nightclub. In 1975, it was bought by Ville de Lachine and became La Maison du brasseur (the brewer’s house), part of the Guy Descary Cultural Complex.
