Aimé Guérin
Aimé Guérin, one of the most well renowned of the master "cageux", made 25 trips annually during his long career spread out over 50 years in the rapids of the St. Lawrence River. According to an eyewitness from the Calvin Cook & Counter company, before venturing into the Lachine Rapids, Aimé Guérin was apparently in the habit of kneeling down on a log of wood to pray the rosary. His companions were said to have followed his example, praying as well to save themselves from accidents and death.
