The Communion work of art

Located in Parc des Rapides, near the bicycle path, the Communion tubular sculpture is composed of two intertwining structures, one painted in blue and the other in red. This work of art was created for a 1990 summer event called Sculpture : Séduction 90, presented in sixteen parks within the Montréal Urban Community and organized by the Conseil de la sculpture du Québec. This sculpture was created by Jacques Carpentier, who was born in France, settled in Montréal in 1968 and taught art at the CÉGEP du Vieux-Montréal in the 1990s. Communion is installed at the site of the water mills in Lachine, which disappeared at the beginning of the 20th century.
