A Beach in Verdun

Within the legacy of Montréal's 375th anniversary, a brand new beach has been developed along Verdun's shoreline, behind the Verdun Auditorium. Near public transit and the bicycle path, this environmentally-friendly, urban beach gives Verdunites better access to the river in addition to renaturalizing the riverbanks.

Much more than a mere sandy beach, the site includes such features as an urban square, a 300-metre promenade, woodlands as well as several areas of activities. Since universal accessibility is one of the Borough's priorities, the traffic and relaxation areas are accessible to everyone. People with limited mobility are therefore able to benefit from both grassy and sandy areas or just use the low-sloping trail to get to the river.
